Common resident but with most records from ancient deciduous woodland.

Quercus spp. with larva feeding from July to October in a mine on the underside of a leaf and then in cones made by neatly turning down a lobe of the leaf.

Attracted to light.

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
