An adventive species with most records from parks and gardens where the food plant occurs. When present it can be very common.

Azalea, Rhododendron simsii, R. indicum etc. with larva feeding in May/June and August/September at first in a gallery mine in the underside of a leaf leading to a blotch. Later in a cone formed by rolling down the tip of a leaf.

Attracted to light.
